About the Doctor

Dr. Buzas is an Orthopaedic surgeon with extensive and diverse training in Sports Medicine, who specializes in state-of-the art surgical techniques including robotically assisted surgery. He obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.  Dr. Buzas then went on to obtain his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. After medical school, he did a research fellowship, at Wayne State University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, where he published multiple studies on concussions, knee replacements and high tibial osteotomies. 

He then completed Orthopaedic residency at Beaumont Health in Royal Oak, Michigan. After residency, he did a sub-specialty year in sports medicine at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana. During his fellowship, he was involved with the care of athletes in multiple teams, including the NBA Pelicans, Dillard University women’s volleyball and women’s and men’s basketball, and high school football.

In his free time, Dr. Buzas enjoys lifting weights, cycling, going to the beach and traveling.

What Makes Us Unique

Chronic Hamstring tear

This is a patient in his 60s who was unable to play basketball due to a chronic hamstring tear.  After PRP injection, he returned to basketball and has been pain free since.

Traumatic Rotator Cuff Tear from Hockey

This is a patient who had a full thickness traumatic rotator cuff tear on the right from a hockey injury.  He is 6 months from surgery and has full strength and motion.

Bilateral Knee Osteoarthritis

This is a patient who had severe pain in both of his knees due to arthritis.  He didn’t improve without surgery, so robotic total knee replacements were performed.  He’s 3 months from surgery and pain free.
